Best Swimming Pools

Of course Florida is famous for its gorgeous beaches but the pools in South Florida are legendary as well. Built in the heyday design periods of the Art Deco and Mediterranean revivalist eras, or later to mimic them, these pools are elegant respites that pay glamorous tribute to our magic city of Miami.

One of the largest hotel swimming pools in the Continental U.S.,
The Biltmore pool measures approximately 23,000 square feet and holds 600,000 gallons of water. The historic and fanciful half-acre pool, flanked by a Moorish tower and Roman statuary featured aquacades starring Esther Williams and Johnny Weissmuller, in his pre-Tarzan days, was a swimming instructor. It’s simply breathtaking in scope and design and one can’t help feeling a bit like a movie star while lounging in such a grand environment.

There are few pools in the country that can rival the massive size of this aquifer-fed beauty that holds 820,000 gallons of fresh water. During the busy summer months, this pool is naturally drained and refilled every day, and best of all it is open to the public.

The internationally famous Villa Casa Casuarinaalso known as the Versace Mansion, features a pool paying tribute to the God of the Sea, Poseidon. This much photographed pool is 54’ long and was built in sections, in Italy, and transported to Miami for installation. The Medusa head medallion embedded on the pool deck would have surely been the wow factor if the pool itself were not lined with thousands of 24 carat gold pool tiles. A spectacular glimpse of true luxury.
