Iconic Nikki Beach has reached an agreement with the City of Miami to stay open until August of 2027.
This venue has always been a major hot spot for groups so having an additional year of availability is a welcome reprieve since after that, the venue is scheduled to close and undergo major renovations under different ownership.
Unframed, a Marriott Autograph Collection property with 150 guest rooms has opened in Miami just a block from our famous pedestrian promenade, Lincoln Road and the Miami Beach Convention Center.
This is part of the development and expansion in the area that we expected as the construction of the 800-room Grand Hyatt creates great new opportunities for large groups and citywides when it opens in late 2027.
Speaking of this immediate area, the historic Fillmore Theater seats 2000 for a general session, product launch or concert.
And the New World Symphony has multiple event spaces including the striking main performance hall for 700 guests.
These two venues are short walks from the convention center and across the street from the new Unframed, so expect high demand when the Grand Hyatt opens.
The first Michelin star award in Palm Beach did not go to our usual great suspects, it went to Emelina, a 16-seat elevated Cuban tasting menu experience.
(By the way, this is the only Cuban restaurant awarded a Michelin star in the world,
and of course it is located in South Florida!)

The W South Beach is closing next month on August 17 for major renovations.
